USE ME Post Apocalyptic rules Reviewed on Dropship Horizon Blog

There is a great review of UM007 USE ME Post Apocalyptic rules for 15mm miniatures over on Dropship Horizon Blog.

Dropship Horizon is the world’s premier place for all things 15mm science fiction related and the review was written by Chris K who has his own excellent blog The Basement Gaming Bunker as well as being a reviewer for DSH.

The review of the rules covers both the print and electronic editions of UM007 and is fair, balanced and independent as all good reviews are.

You can also find links to additional free resources for UM007 by author O.G.Joel in the comments list for the review.

So head on over and have a read.  Good Job Chris!

Shilling Service Pack Painted by Imp522 – Flintloque

I picked this link up from the Notables Yahoo Group posted by member Dave.  Dave has his own wargaming place so I headed over the Imp522’s blog where he resides to take a look.

I think he has done a great  job on a SSP04 Shilling Service Pack from Alternative Armies.  You can see his painting and basing work over on his blog.

The Shilling Service Pack gives you a Flintloque rulebook plus miniatures, dice and an insert with scenarios to get you started.  Great value and great fun too.

Nice work Dave!

The Goddess Athena on Barking Irons

Craig Andrews, editor of Barking Irons Online, has posted up my additional rules for Typhon game of Greek Mythology on the news website.   The article concerns the Goddess Athena and her abilities in the game as a patron god of your Hero and his sacred band of Warriors.  The article contains all seven of her gifts and their costs in fate points.

My favourite of all Greek Mythology creatures is tied to Athena and that is Bubo the clockwork owl.  I adore this little fellow and hope at some point to have him added to the Typhon Miniature Range over at Alternative Armies.

Barking Irons has more material on Typhon, so go along and have a look.

Chroniques du fort Bastini – 15mm.co.uk figures on blog

Today I was passed a link to an excellent blog run by a French wargamer and customer of 15mm.co.uk.  I was told he had placed a small order back before Christmas 2011 and that he would send images of his finished work once it was ready.  This he has done!

As part of his ‘Gangs of New Hope City’ this faction sees two Laserburn miniatures 110A and 114 along with HOF57c (far left) in front of a ‘Hotwheels Hummer’.  Go across to the blog for more on this and more images.

He has a lovely hand for painting and for scenics too.  Great setting.

Thanks David!

At the end of Troll Month on Alternative Armies

January 2012 was Troll Month over on Alternative Armies.  Its intent was to introduce the brand new race of Trolkin to the World of Valon, setting of Flintloque.  It went rather swimmingly truth be told.

The release of Trolkin Line (Lergo Line) in six poses along with a great limited edition pack LE045 Bange & Oafson set the ‘little trolls’ off to a flying start.  A Trolkin is the little cousin of the massive Trolka, biggest soldier in the Mordredian Wars, but each miniature still stands 30mm tall making them bigger then High Elves.  Above you can see the Trolkin, they are all on their own page at Trolkin.

A big part of Troll Month was the release of the free PDF download booklet that provides a whole background, formations, characters, profiles, scenario for the Trolls.  This free booklet was downloaded over four hundred times in two weeks and by the feedback I have read made a lot of players rather happy.  You can get your hands on the booklet by clicking on the image above or going to this page on the Alternative Armies website.

Lastly the sculptor who took the Trolkin into white metal life, Rob Alderman, has posted a couple of videos in which he explains his own way of painting up Trolkin.  This is a really nice video and well worth a watch.

USE ME Fantasy AAR

My good friend Bob Minadeo over in the USA has kindly taken the time out of his hectic schedule to write an ‘After Action Report’ or AAR on my title UM002 USE ME 15mm Fantasy.

USE ME 15mm Fantasy

The UM002 set of rules has been out for more than a year now and it plays really well in skirmish and full blown battle (yes, I would say that but it does!).  Head on over to Bob’s blog and read the AAR to see for yourself.

Eye Candy for the Ion Age

The Ion Age setting for Alternative Armies games such as ‘Firefight 2.0‘ and ‘Moth‘ has many fans and is supported by a large range of 28mm scale white metal wargaming miniatures.  It was my privilege to receive some images from a very talented fellow by the name of Samuel Croes and I would like to share them with you.  They depict his own Ion Age miniatures in the paint schemes of his Castella barony.  Enjoy!

Mr Croes has a wonderful eye for colour so please take a moment to look over these images.  Luvverly!

Those wanting to see these miniatures for their own collections visit the Ion Age now.
