I have completed the digital works and final proofs on the UM010 USE ME Support Pack title written by Kurt Benson (author of USE ME Wild West). Release is scheduled for April 2012.
This title takes the USE ME Series in a new direction. In addition to rules sets the series will also feature expansion titles and others. UM010 is the first of these.
This little booklet has a lot packed into it, more than other books much more expensive and larger than it is in fact. Sections on Strategy, on Tactics, on Terrain Building, on Laying out Gaming Tables, Special Environments, Weather Systems and even how to take on a city campaign from several angles and boards. Kurt has really outdone himself and his many years experience as a wargamer shine through on the pages. Awesome!
Support Pack is very much a USE ME title and fits in expertly with many of the rule sets in the series. Mainly aimed at UM001 USE ME 15mm Science Fiction, UM003 USE ME World War Two and UM004 USE ME Modern Warfare it also has a lot to offer for UM005 USE ME American Civil War and UM007 USE ME Post Apocalypse too.

Munchy Munchy!
This week, on friday, 15mm.co.uk will be adding to the successful SHM range. This range is dedicated to allowing aspiring miniature sculptors to have their chance at getting designs into the mold without any cost to them. As a result of this the range is filled with miniatures that would otherwise never see the light of day…including some really odd creatures…including the Krators!
Sculpted by Nick Kondratov these will consititute codes SHM25 and SHM26 with the first being the one big Krator (about 16mm) and the second comprising three random smaller Krators (6mm) from three different designs. No confirmation on pricing but I think it will be about 1.00GBP for the big one and about the same for three small ones.
I have to say I adore these miniatures and they are among my most fav in 15mm scale. Superb for lots of uses including alien invasions, big game hunts, dungeon plunging, urban chaos, near future, post-apoco and more. Fur, devil eyes and lot…I mean lots..of teeth!
I am tempted to pen a USE ME scenario and unique rules for the Krators which would go up on Barking Irons. Something involving colonists and unfriendly natives! If this sounds good to you drop me a line or comment here.

New Ion Age Miniatures!
Sneak Peek time people. Yes, new Ion Age miniatures. The first newly molded masters in more than ten years in Alternative Armies 28mm science fiction line will be released before Salute 2012. IB051 Retained Squires.
Conversions sculpted by Rob Alderman these four fill a gap most mentioned by players of Firefight 2.0, MOTH and other systems that the Ion Age range has virtually no bare headed miniatures to provide characters and a different look. Well that is changing now with these four Squires. Suitable as officer, sergeants or just plain troopers they fit the bill. I already have these miniatures in my collection and they look great.

Excitement is building and now the cake is out of the bag to alter a well quoted phrase. In April 2012 there will be a new Very Limited Edition code (VLE) released by Alternative Armies which will feature not only an Undead Baker (cousin of the Reanimator creator Doctorov…Bakorov perhaps?) but also two terrified Dwarf Assistants and a large angry Gingerbread Man (standing some 50mm tall as you see see in this post). This set will feature in the Flintloque participation game at Salute 2012 along with the fantastic Gingerbread House scratchbuilt by Tony Harwood.
Tony stated to me earlier this week that he would kindly make a pledge to paint up this set for his own use and for use as the official AA photos on the company website. He has announced this pledge now on his excellent blog so its public knowledge and I can now also talk about it.
And in reply to your offer of ‘thanks’ Tony, all I can say is that you are most welcome. As Kurt Benson said on the Notables group Flintloque is a unique game that has a special sense of humour all too rare, a sense of whimsy if you like. Who could not love this set of 28mm scale miniatures.

Another title in the excellent USE ME series of wargaming rules takes a step nearer to completion. O.G.Joel has delivered the manuscript for UM011 USE ME Cyberpunk to me at 15mm.co.uk.
Below you can see the cover for the book, which is due for release in April 2012, with digital art created by my best buddy Jim Brittain.
More on this title nearer the time but I can tell you that it covers skirmishes, battles, campaigns, solo play along with what you would expect in the way of Cyborgs, Corporations, Hackers and the like. My own contribution to it that I am working on now is a list of recommended viewing and reading in the genre. Lots to choose from but I will narrow it down keeping in mind all those late 80’s and early 90’s B-Movies like Cyborg that you can check out too.

Following up on the success of the SSP04 Bier & Bones starter set for Flintloque 3rd edition late last year Alternative Armies are releasing another starter pack on Friday 2nd March 2012. This second pack is code SSP02 Death in the Snow and gives a player all they need to to get on the action in the chilly Witchlands campaign. The boxed set contains the ninety six page Death in the Snow game book along with a special two page insert (scenarios, characters, how to get started and more) plus fourteen 28mm White Metal miniatures (Elf Carabiniers and Werewolf Jagers with Vampyre Officer) and fourteen plastic bases. I designed this starter set to allow gamers to get familiar with the game, the campaign and the two small sections before moving on and adding more forces to expand a collection. It does this very well with the two sections being light infantry the addition of line infantry, cavalry, artillery and the Undead all easy to do. I got a package in the mail this morning and was I in for a surprise. A package from Tony Harwood for use with at the Flintloque demo game at Salute 2012…and in it…the actual original Gingerbread House as yet to feature on Barking Irons Online. See here for Dampf’s Blog.
This is a superb little piece of terrain, rich and looking real tasty too. I will of course take good care of it and those of you who come along on the day to Salute will get to it see it and a lot more new Flintloque goodness.

SSP04 Shilling Service pack for Bier & Bones
I had planned to release three more Shilling Service packs for Flintloque 3rd edition in time for Salute 2012, much like the one for Bier & Bones. However a few emails and one vocal member of the Notables Yahoo Group has led me to change my mind and to move the release forward a touch into March 2012. The new SSP codes will cover War in Catalucia, Death in the Snow, Grapeshotte. Each will have a 96pp book along with miniatures, bases, dice and a two page special insert; all contained within a lovely box.
While I cannot give full details here the basic contents will be as follows.
